If you’re looking for Windows Media Center Extenders, and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is pretty much the only game in town these days. Good thing it’s a pretty sweet gaming console too.

Buy.com currently has a refurbished Xbox 360 Pro Package including three games, two controllers, and the other normal goodies, for only $199 with free shipping.

It’s the older 20GB version, but does have an HDMI port and full 1-year MS warranty. From the looks of it, the three games are Dark Sector, Ultimate Alliance and Forza 2.

Looking for more Xbox and less package? ECost.com currently has Xbox 360 Elite, also refurbished with full 1-year Microsoft warranty, for $209. This one only packs the standard single wireless controller, but includes a bump in hard drive capacity to 120GB, as well as a suave black finish that might integrate a little better into your home theater’s rack.

I’ve made one return to eCost (not an electronics item) and it went smoothly enough, while I can see where there could also be room for improvement.

If you’re hesitant, the Dell.com coupons that come along fairly often may be another good choice, especially if/while they still have stock of the 60gb Pro package.

eCost is alway a risky bet.  Some good prices, but terrible customer service.  If you have a problem out of the box with the refurb XBox - it’s your problem- and all they do is send you to Microsoft.
I suggest spending a few extra bucks from a buy.com or newegg and save yourself the grief.
