If you don’t already have a Wii, this game deal is reason enough to get one, assuming they’re in stock.
As the third installment in the Guitar Hero trilogy, GH3 remains relatively unchanged from the previous versions - hit the notes as they scroll onscreen and bask in the applause. Miss but a few and you’ll quickly remember why you’re an accountant and not touring with Weezer.
This edition does add a story line to your music career, starting you out as local talent and pushing you up the charts until you make it big and face some scary competition. Also new in GH3 is the Battle Mode, pitting two players face to face or via a network.
Of course, any veteran player will tell you Guitar Hero is all about the music. Classics mostly, including tracks by Metallica, G n’R, the Stones, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice Cooper, Foghat, and the ultimate fake guitar player - Tenacious D. If you were born post ‘78, this game should be considered required learning. Seriously.
What makes this deal a bundle? A wireless axe is included - a Gibson no less - so there’s no wires to mess with your killer solo.
Fwiw, if you’re not a Wii adopter, Circuit City has several variations also on sale for the 360, PS2, and PS3.
