Need to pick up a replacement 3/8-inch Craftsman ratchet? Or a filter for your Kenmore refrigerator/vacuum/toaster? Maybe a Die Hard battery for your ‘97 Civic? Chances are you’re heading to Sears.

While you’re there, you can also grab the Panasonic TC-P50S1 50-inch 1080p Plasma HDTV along with an Xbox 360 60GB Pro Bundle (with two games) for $999.99.

The Panasonic S series plasma line is my pick for best value in a 1080p plasma. The Xbox 360 Pro is the last model that will maintain an HDMI output (the newer Elite SKUs are dropping it all together), plus Lego Indiana Jones is just plain fun. Also, the Xbox 360 can serve as the gateway to all of your networked media as either a Windows Media Center Extender or transcoding servers like PlayOn and TVersity

Next lowest authorized price for the TV is $979, so you’re basically getting the Xbox 360 for $20. There is also a 10% Rebate available for Sears Credit Card holders to bring the price down to $899.99. Select in-store pick up to save on shipping, since you’re making the drive for that blue Land’s End crew jacket anyway.

I have purchased 5 xbox’s over the life of the console. 2 Pro Models, 2 Elite and 1 Arcade. The Elite was the only one that came with an HDMI cable. The Pro and Arcade did not. In fact my first Pro model did not even have HDMI output. But the point is, there are 0 models today that include an HDMI cable, but they all have HDMI ports.

What he should have said:

The Xbox Pro which comes with HDMI cable is being discontinued and the replacement does not include the HDMI cable (BFD).

They aren’t dropping the port. They just aren’t including an HDMI cable in the box.

Where did you find this information?? I have a brand new Elite Xbox and it most certainly does have an HDMI port. The only modification made was a new chip. HDMI output is still available.

Straight from Xbox.com:
“Xbox 360® Elite is the premier console package with a massive hard drive, a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) port, and a premium black finish for the console. Get started with a black wireless controller, Xbox LIVE® headset, and a free Netflix trial all included.”
