Thinking about going the two-piece projection system route for your theater? Maybe want to add a movie-only display or larger display for nighttime viewing to cover up an LCD in the main media room?
Best Buy has an Optoma 106-inch pulldown projection screen on sale right now for $153 plus $19 shipping, according to Dealnews.
It’s almost half of the next closest price for the screen that Dealnews could find, so you can put more money into that high-def projector to go with it.
Specs from Best Buy:
- High-contrast, cinema-grade silver screen for very good black levels, brilliant whites and deep colors
- Screen gain: 1.8
- Designed for use with moderate power output DLP and LCD projectors
- Wall- or ceiling-mountable screen rolls into its steel case when not in use
- Pull-down level lock system locks at intervals to fit a variety of projection formats
One commenter noted that the gray (“silver”) screen darkened for better black levels and contrast, so be sure you can control the lighting in the room or have it in a dedicated darkened theater.
