Still seeking out that budget Blu-ray player? Didn’t fall for something around $200 on Black Friday, as it looked like Blu-ray players fared pretty well that weekend?
Well, head on over to Target, retailers of the Olevia-branded Blu-ray player.
According to Engadget HD, big red will be selling blu—as in Olevia’s BD-100—for just $149.99 starting this Sunday, December 21 (not sure how long the deal runs).
That’s pretty much the target price, ugh no pun intended, we’ve heard for people to start picking up Blu-ray en masse.
It looks like the BD-100 is a Profile 1.1 player, with 5.1 surround sound support, and plays BD, BD-RE, BluRays, BD-R, CD-R/RWs, DVD-R/RWs, DVDs, CDs. Judging by the handful of comments on Target.com, it’s either a 5-star value player or a 1-star hunk o’ junk—not much in between as far as reviews go. For a buck-fifty, we’re certainly willing to take the risk.
