Mitsubishi’s HC5500 LCD projector
March 26, 2009 by Arlen Schweiger always has some pretty sweet deals, but the latest one on a 1080p model from Mitsubishi is really tasty.

Unfortunately, it’s coming to a close at the end of the month, but at least there’s a little time left. The model is Mitsubishi’s HC5500 1080p LCD projector.

ProjectorPeople is already offering it at a reduced $1,799 price (down from $2,300), but throw in a manufacturer’s rebate for another $300 off and you’ve got yourself a very affordable, quality full HD 1920x1080 projector.

The icing on the cake is a free replacement lamp, too, so you’re saving a few hundred future bucks there.

You can expect solid HD images from the Hollywood Quality Video processor, a highlight among other specs that include:

  • 14,000:1 contrast ratio
  • 1,200 lumens
  • 19 dBA noise level
  • Two HDMI 1.3a ports
  • Component, composite, VGA, serial, S-video ports
  • 50-percent motorized up/down lens shift
  • 12.3 pounds

If you’re just getting into the projector game, or maybe upgrading from 720p high-def with a larger screen, this looks like a good in. Only a little less than a week left on the rebate, though, so check it out soon.
