Sears has the LG 42PQ30 42” 720p 600Hz Plasma HDTV for $530, along with a free $50 LG Gas Card (pdf) through mail-in rebate. Select in-store pick up to save on shipping.

The next lowest authorized price I could find is $579 plus shipping and handling. If have a Sears credit card, you save an extra 5 percent via mail-in rebate (pdf) for using the card to purchase the TV, making it $504.

  • 2,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast ratio

Inputs: HDMI (3), Composite (2), Component (2), S-Video (1), Audio (1), USB (1).

Sears also has the LG 50PQ30 50” 720p Plasma HDTV for $720 (price shows in cart) along with a $75 LG gas card (pdf) by mail-in rebate. Next best authorized price I could find is $854 plus shipping and handling. The same Sears Card 5 percent off via mail-in rebate (pdf) applies, bringing the price down to making it $684.

Specs: 1365x768 resolution and a NTSC/ATSC/QAM Tuner

Inputs: HDMI (3), VGA (1), Component (2), Composite (2), S-Video (1), Digital Audio Out (1), USB 2.0 (1, on side), RF (1, antenna).

While neither of these are high-end 1080p displays, the prices are great, especially the 50” model. These would be perfect for the living room, bedroom, or secondary set in a front-projection theater (the 42” model costs less than some projector bulbs!).
