Today, April 15, is a dark day. The sun hangs a little lower. There’s free coffee, but it’s only going to give you the shakes later this afternoon. It’s tax day, and that refund you thought you had coming is a little short this year. Instead of that Anthem D2v, P5, and Paradigm Signatures, you’re going to have to settle for a Home Theater in a Box. We wanted to find you one that will make you proud knowing that your speakers and AVR come in the same carton.
From now through April 30, 2010, Amazon has the Klipsch HD 500 Compact 5.1 speaker package and Denon AVR-1610 receiver for a combined low price of $599 with free Super Saver shipping (or 2-Day for Prime members).
The AVR-1610 packs 75 watts per channel, Audyssey MultEQ room correction, and 3 x 1080p HDMI inputs. The Klipsch HD 500 includes five compact satellite speakers and 8-inch 120w subwoofer that should put any HTiB speakers to shame.
To get the package price just add both items to your cart (make sure you’re getting them from Amazon and not a 3rd party) and you should see the discounted price at the very last step in the checkout process. The savings more than makes up for what you paid the accountant—the Klipsch set itself ordinarily runs $549, and the receiver $379 when sold separately.
It may not be quite what Turbo Tax said you could buy, but the 22-year-old University of Phoenix CPA at H&R Block knows what he’s doing, right?
