At $92 a pair(!) you really can’t go wrong, especially coming from JBL. Hang them on a wall via the integrated keyhole, or set them in a bookcase and get music into every nook and cranny. Add them to your home theater and you’re cooking with 7.1.
Their angled baffles are designed to disperse sound evenly while the titanium-laminate tweeters and PolyPlas woofers keep your highs and lows clean. These speakers also use JBL’s “FreeFlow” flared ports to reduce unwanted distortion and “boominess”.
Another big technology, for such a small speaker, is the “Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal” waveguide which according to JBL’s marketing department “ensures that every seat is the best in the house for sweet music and intelligible dialogue, or for just rocking out.” Uh, yeah. The gold-plated, 5-way binding posts are a nice touch, ensuring a solid connection with your speaker wires.
Some may scoff at these speakers for their petite size (10x10x6in) but there’s a lot to be said for blending into a room as opposed to overpowering it.
