Anniversaries in the consumer electronics industry generally offer manufacturers reasons to repackage, rebrand and resend into the market something that’s already been pretty successful. We’re pretty happy to see that DALI, a Danish loudspeaker manufacturer, has marked the 25th anniversary of its Helicon 400 MK2 speaker with a limited edition of it. The model was shown earlier this year at CES and is available this month, according to Hi-Fi Ring.
This speaker is a head turner to say the least. It features seven coats of lacquering, with the subsequent polishing producing a beautiful piano-black cabinet. The speakers get a gold logo in front and gold limited edition badge in back for added attractiveness.
The technology’s pretty posh too, with a hybrid ribbon and soft-dome tweeter module, a couple of 6-inch midrange/woofer drivers and crossover network taken from DALI’s high-performance Euphonia line.
The Helicon 400 MK2 LE 25th anniversary speakers go for 6,750 euros, or just under $10,600 per pair.
