Video screens can be environmentally friendly, too. Da-Lite Screen Company’s vinyl fabrics have achieved Greenguard Environmental Institute certification for low emissions. That means the screens meet acceptable indoor air quality standards by emitting low amounts of chemicals and particles that can pose health hazards, particularly to those with respiratory ailments such as asthma.

The Institute awarded the certification for all of Da-Lite’s proprietary projection screen vinyl fabrics; Audio Vision, Cinema Vision, Da-Mat, Da-Tex, Dual Vision, High Contrast Audio Vision, High Contrast Cinema Perf, High Contrast Cinema Vision, High Contrast Da-Mat, High Contrast Da-Tex, Pearlescent, Ultra Wide Angle and the recently introduced 3D Virtual Black rear-screen projection material.

Da-Lite says that with the certification of these 13 vinyl fabrics and its previous five certified screen materials, the company offers the widest range of Greenguard-certified projection screens. Draper also offers Greenguard-certified screens, and MechoShade offers a recyclable EcoVeil shade

Da-Lite’s screen fabrics also meet Greenguard’s Children & Schools Certified Product requirements for low-emitting audio/video equipment used in sensitive environments such as daycare, school and healthcare facilities. The Greenguard certification mark helps architects, builders and designers identify products and materials that undergo rigorous testing and meet stringent standards for chemical emissions.
