Sadly, you can’t always have networking where you need it. Some houses have hardwiring options in every room, while some rely on the power of wireless. For areas where neither is an option, D-Link has the new DHP-1320 Wireless-N PowerLine Router.

This new router is designed to extend both wired and wireless networks, by using something that everyone has: electrical outlets. D-Link says that this IPv6-ready network solution will deliver 200Mbps over the powerline and 300Mbps of wireless-N as well.

No drilling or pulling cable is necessary. Yet, you should be able to hide out in isolated areas of your house, and still enjoy streaming video, VoIP calls, and everything else that the web has to offer. Just plug the DHP-1320 into an electrical outlet; adapters can then be added into almost any room.

“With this combination router and D-Link’s line of PowerLine accessory products, we’re able to provide consumers with a simple way to extend their networks into ‘dead zones’ where wireless coverage has previously been limited or spotty, such as a basement, an upstairs bedroom, or other hard to reach locations,” said Daniel Kelley, D-Link’s associate VP of consumer marketing.

Other features on the DHP-1320 include the Atheros Hy-Fi chipset, HomePlug AV certification, three 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet ports, WPA and WPA2 support, and more.

The DHP-1320 Hybrid Wireless-N PowerLine Router is shipping now for $129.99. D-Link also has a few add-ons, such as the DHP-346AV PowerLine AV 4-Port Switch ($99.99), the DHP-W306AV PowerLine AV Wireless N Extender ($119.99), and the DHP-307AV PowerLine AV Network Starter Kit ($139.99).
