D-Link is putting a little spice into its router line. As you can tell by the photo, all of the company’s 802.11AC routers have a funky design. However, it’s performance that makes the four new models stand out.
The new line includes the Wireless AC1750 Router (DIR-868L), the Wireless AC1200 Router (DIR-860L), the Wireless AC1000 Router (DIR-820L) and the Wireless AC750 Router (DIR-810L). Each one promises speeds from 1,750Mbps to 750Mbps, depending on the model. Designed for gaming, HD video streaming and multiple users, all four of the new models pack in dual-band technology and support for mydlink Lite and SharePort mobile apps.
To break things down a little more, that AC1750 can deliver super speeds of up to 1,750Mbps, with the AC1200 able to do 1200Mbps. The AC1000 can do speeds up to 1,000Mbps, while the AC750 offers 750Mbps. The two speediest models have four Gigabit Ethernet ports each, with the other two packing four Fast Ethernet ports.
“Today’s average home now has more than 15 devices, oftentimes with multiple iPads, iPhones, as well as Android phones and tablets, and consumers are looking for the best in wireless connectivity to help deliver uninterrupted HD video streaming, online gaming and multiple user capabilities,” said Daniel Kelley, vice president of marketing of D-Link Systems, Inc. “With the introduction of the new 11AC Router line, D-Link provides next-generation wireless speeds to meet the needs of the digital home coupled with advanced remote management and sharing capabilities to better suit mobile lifestyles.”
D-Link is shipping all four of the new routers right now. The Wireless AC 1750 is priced at $169.99, the AC 1200 is $149.99 and the AC1000 is $119.99. The least expensive of the lot is the AC750, which has an MSRP of $79.99.
