Streaming and secure WiFi shouldn’t be limited to the confines of your home network. D-Link is making sharing universal, with its new SharePort Go (DIR-506L) dongle.
As part of the company’s SharePort family of mobile solutions, the SharePort Go is compact enough to travel and includes a rechargeable battery. Once you decide to make D-Link your travel companion, it will provide easy options to share and stream across a range of devices, add wireless storage to a smartphone or tablet, or turn any Internet connection into a WiFi hotspot.
According to D-Link, the SharePort Go can be used almost anywhere, thanks to that built-in battery. It can even be used to charge up your smartphone, when the battery is running low.
“Internet access is ubiquitous in public places across the globe—hotels, coffee shops, airports and more - however, often times these connections are not secure and they don’t offer an easy way to share an Internet connection with multiple devices,” said Ken Loyd, D-Link’s director of consumer products. “The new SharePort Go not only provides easy and secure networking wherever you are, but enables you to share all types of media with any number of devices, effortlessly.”
D-Link has started shipping the SharePortGo with an MSRP of $99.99. It’s currently available at Amazon, Fry’s and Newegg, with stores like Office Depot and Office Max to follow during the holiday season.
