D-Link has made tweaks to a few of its popular products. The company just announced an upgrade to its mydlink portal and mydlink Cloud Camera apps.
Both products allow users to monitor a home or office from pretty much any computer, iPhone or iPad (with iOS 4.3 or later), or an Android device (with 1.6 or later).
First and foremost, D-Link has made configuration a lot easier. Users can update motion and audio detection settings, as well asset schedules and noise thresholds. Other highlights include remote video playback from an SD card, remote pan and tilt features for Cloud Camera 5000 (DCS-5222L) users, and two-way audio for those with the Cloud Camera 1200 (DCS-942L) or Cloud Camera 2200 (DCS-2132L).
“We’re excited to add several new features to our mydlink apps in order to make it even easier for moms, dads, home owners and small businesses to use D-Link Cloud Cameras for round-the-clock surveillance,” said Daniel Kelley, vice president of marketing of D-Link Systems, Inc. “The new capabilities cater directly to mobile users and extend the control of Cloud Cameras while on the go. Whether you’re looking to keep an eye on your property, your business after hours, the kids while you’re away, or even the family dog, the new features make it easier than ever.”
The new features are available on the mydlink portal and mydlink Lite (free) app right now, with the upgrade arriving on the mydlink+ app ($0.99) sometime next month.
