A plasma or LCD TV can be a beautiful addition to any room. There’s just one problem: the unsightly wiring that’s left hanging from the unit. For a few hundred dollars, you can hire a professional audio/video installer to hang the TV and fish the wires behind the walls. If you’re handy with power tools, you can do the hanging and drilling yourself, but that still leaves the wires.

Anthony Lozano came up with a solution. The California-based furniture designer has created an attractive, wall-mounted, fiberboard channel that hides the cabling that runs between the bottom of the TV and the top of your A/V cabinet. “It’s a great option for apartment and condo dwellers and for first-time buyers of flat-screen TVs who can’t or don’t want to cut into the wall,” he says. “The installation requires the use of general hand tools and is no more difficult than putting up a towel rack.”

To accommodate the various sizes of furniture and flat-panel TVs, Lozano designed the Wiring Solution in three lengths. The WS12 ($39) spans 12 inches between the bottom of the TV and top of the A/V cabinet, the WS20 ($49) covers 20 inches, and the WS30 ($79) hides a 30-inch run of cabling. All models come in either a textured or nontextured finish, are sculpturally shaped, and can be painted to match the wall surface.

Lozano has sold more than 2,000 units in just a few months through several online retailers and a West Coast audio/video shop.
