Home control systems from Crestron are all about convenience, high functionality and versatility. The company’s new TPS-6X touchpanel combines the whole ball of wax into one nifty device.
Crestron says the 6-inch TPS-6X gives you functionality previously found in nine separate touchpanels, and can be used as a wireless, tiltcase and permanent panel.
Long-range two-way RF communication can be achieved for managing devices up to 200 feet, and there’s also one-way IR as well with the TPS-6X. When it’s wired, the touchpanel can run on Crestron’s Cresnet cabling or Ethernet.
Also when the device is docked, it will present you with full-motion video display capability. When you pick the device up, it automatically switches to wireless mode.
Navigation on the TPS-6X is a breeze with illuminated pushbuttons and the traditional Crestron robust on-screen menu.
For those who want to save a little energy, the TPS-6X also takes a little electricity nap, going into sleep mode when it’s not in use to preserve battery life as well, and then jolts back into action when you touch the screen or button. It also looks pretty sweet in a glossy black finish—it’ll be great with that piano black plasma you’re controlling.
