Creative just announced the Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook sound card, which is designed to make your laptop audio sound better—a boost that many portable PCs sorely need. It’s also easy to install; just pop it into the ExpressCard slot.
While that sounds great, if you combine the card with the new Creative Wireless Receiver, the setup suddenly becomes one of the cheapest wireless music solutions we’ve ever seen. The receiver allows users to blast music from a notebook to any speakers in the house—up to 100 feet away. It even allows you to set up zones so music can be played independently in specific rooms.
Of course, the whole setup includes Creative’s X-Fi audio technology, as well as X-Fi Crystalizer for music and X-Fi CMSS-3D for gaming. The Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook card also includes a free download of PowerDVD software, which has DTS and Dolby Digital support.
The card will cost you $90, while the receiver runs $70. Both products are available now.
