Relaxation and technology are two words that rarely go together. But when the technology is designed right, your home can pamper you as well as any of the treatments at four-star spa. Just ask Hot Spring, Ark., resident Brandon Adams. He recently set up to create a stress-free environment in his own lakeside home through the incorporation of various high-tech products—which can all be managed and controlled through one main system, the g! from Elan.
Programmed and installed by the custom electronics (CE) pros at Sound Concept, the g! enables the home to function nearly all on its own, based on predefined schedules. For example, at certain times of the day, the thermostats, pool equipment and lighting self adjusts. Should Adams need to tweak these settings, he can do so with a few touches on the screen of his iPhone, which can display an app that ties directly into the g! system.
If his iPhone or iPad aren’t handy, there’s always another types of control device nearby. Sound Concept outfitted the house and pool area with 16 touchscreens and 10 Elan HR2 handheld remotes.
Being able to control lights, motorized window shades, an HAI security system, IP surveillance cameras, thermostats garage doors, 11 Samsung TVs, audio to 45 speakers and a complete home theater system from any of these control devices affords Adams more time to enjoy what really matters at his house—the relaxing outdoor living space featuring a series of pools and a stunning view of the lake.
