Earlier this year, Control4 introduced a little box known as the Wireless Music Bridge. The company says that the product is now shipping.
The hook on this compact box is that it adds a wealth of music into any Control4 system. It can do that by snagging music from connected smartphones, tablets or computers. It can also play any music that’s stored on any of those devices.
The options are really endless. Besides streaming all of your favorite music, this box can add popular services such as Pandora, Spotify and Rdio into your home’s mix. It can even put all of those selections into any audio zone in the house.
Control4’s Wireless Music Bridge combines Ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity into one product. That means that almost any smart device can be used to stream music, news, talk, podcasts, audio books, and more. It also has support for streaming Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth and DLNA.
The company also says that several Wireless Music Bridge boxes can be added into any Control4 system, allowing every member of the house to have his or her own direct wireless portal in every audio zone in the house. The setup can also stream metadata and artwork to touchpanels, TV screens, or your smart device of choice.
The latest Control4 OS 2.5 has support for the Wireless Music Bridge as well as the company’s new Wireless and Panelized Lighting Control solutions.
Control4 is shipping the Wireless Music Bridge now, with an introductory price of $300.
