Connected Green Tech at CES
Smart and connected means energy efficiency and green at CES.
January 19, 2012 | by Steven Castle

The “smart” and “connected” home abounded at last week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and that meant plenty of green and energy management systems that will be a part of those housewide solutions. Following is just a taste of the green-tinged connected home products available and those to come.

Some are still in the concept stage, but others, like those from Nexia (Schlage), Echo Labs Energy Management, FutureDash, and Urban Green Energy are here today and working.

These look great.  I am very interested in getting “green” lighting for my home, but am also on a pretty strict remodeling budget at the present time.  When will these be available to the general public?  By that I mean, are they going to be available at Lowes, Home Depot etc. or will they be specifically sold at lighting/home design stores?
