Maybe they both buy their cases at the same (japanese version of) Radio Shack.
JVC RS2 rebadge. Pathetic…
RS2? or is it a DLA-HD100?
On the up side - aren’t they great projectors?
I’ll cut them a little slack - I’m thinking the proliferation of crappy but slick looking HTIB systems and the economy are cutting into Pio’s profits.
Yes, it’s already well-known to be based upon the RS2/HD100, but that doesn’t mean it will be exactly the same machine with a simple rebadge or firmware change. To give just one one example, Pio may specify different colour filters to fix the well-known over-saturated colours issue that spoils the JVC version for many people. They may also use a different processing system. I don’t know any specific, just pointing out that just because chassis is the same doesn’t mean the picture will be.
At $12k pioneer will probably end up having panasonic make there projectos in a few yrs.
Why cant they just stick with plasma and try to bring there prices down!!
I don’t understand why someone would pay twice as much for even 10% or 20% better at the rate this stuff is changing, assuming it’s even better than the JVC at all.
Wow! First it was rebadged Panasonics and now its going to be a rebadged JVC.
I suppose next it will be farming out their AV Receiver business to Yamaha. That would be a no-brainer for them as Yamaha also makes use of amber displays.
First Dreamvision, now Pioneer…...hopefully Pioneer will at least do something to make the unit different from the JVC.
Besides charging more that is…...Dreamvision might get annoy if they just copy them.
This JVC projector offers more onscreen pixels than most, and a THX mode.
DPI, Sunfire and SnapAV deliver high performance at a reasonable price.
Sayonara, set-top box? Or will it just take an energy-saving nap?
It’s hard to imagine life without remote controls, but it’s been a long, strange path to the modern incarnation we know and love today.
Looks like a JVC projector.
