Amazon has a good deal on the Harmony 890 remote that features most of what the excellent 900 has, plus free shipping.

I don’t see how to get a new one for $99.

This is for refurbished.  It’s a little misleading since it’s says “new” for condition but then says refurbished in the title.

The new ones are still over $250.

Pass

Yep… false alarm. Move along, people. There’s nothing to see here. Even a refurbished remote on Amazon is ~$155. No sign of the $99 special.

Exactly right… where ever the author got the information on the $99 deal… was either incorrect or perhaps an upcoming Black Friday deal.

Certainly is NOT available now.

Stephen,

As others have indicated, the deal is gone now.

A cautionary note- The Harmony includes very limited Z-Wave support.  It can (a) only control 20 devices and (b) it cannot function as a secondary controller to anything other than another 890 remote.  Likewise, you can’t replicate its network to any other system.  As such, you can’t integrate it with any other control system.

This deal did go very quickly.  At 60% below the current street price, along with the fact that many other deals sites/blogs picked this deal up as well, I’m not surprised it didn’t last long.

There was never a new unit for $99.

I saw the deal right when it came out.

It was for a refurbished unit for $99, NOT NEW.

Yes, the deal (when available) was for a refurbished unit.
