I would put Amazon on the very bottom of that list because it is rare to find a good quality cable for the price there. Especially since you have different sellers. I buy all my cables from Monoprice.
I think http://www.firefold.com beats monoprice anyday
You forgot http://www.RamElectronics.net
Very good stuff.
I can’t believe no one mentioned parts express. Not only do they have cheap HDMI cables but they have cheap everything else too. And great customer service as well, good tech advise, good prices, humongous selection.
HDTVSupply.com is another overlooked, high quality, reasonably priced cable e-tailer. Excellent customer service and the owner will communicate with you and answer any questions you have about the products. Not to mention the excellent website.
Monoprice.com is the only place to buy from. Professional quality cables at rock bottom prices.
I love MonoPrice. I have a little game I like to play: When I go to any retailer (BB etc) I always keep a pen and paper in my pocket; then when I see the sales weasel trying to sell somebody $200 of Monster Cable, I write the MonoPrice website down for them. I also like making the sales scumbag try to explain why they should buy the $75 HDMI cable instead of the $10 one; especially when I remind them that I am an Engineer who designs cable assemblies for a living…
I’d probably mention Meritline.com in this… Though I do regularly spend money at Monoprice.
You should check out your local Circuit City. WIth the liquidation, all cables are 40% off right now. Might still be a bit above the online places, but if you prefer going in to a store vs. shopping online, you can get their house brand pretty cheap right now.
If you do have to buy retail for whatever reason, maybe you don’t wont’ to wait for the mailing of the product etc, Walmart and The Apple Store are great resources that aren’t too bad at all.
You can get and HDMI compliant 6ft cable for around $20 at both places.
Yeah I only buy from Monoprice, they have the best selection and price.I am not an expert but I have a rough buying guide for HDMI:
1.Most 28AWG cables will pass 1080p if less than 16ft(5m).
2.For lengths over 16ft(5m) use 24 or 22AWG cable.
3.If you are running cable in-wall then you must use CL2 rated cable,it has a fireproof case.
4.Cat.2 cable has been tested to pass 1080p,it is the best gaurantee that the cable will work.
Cheap:

so so pricing but lots of choice and custom cables:

I purchased cables at prices that I liked at CableWholesale.com. If this sounds like an ad is is not meant that way just passing another location that can be liiked at.

PCH Cables
I found http://www.dalco.com to be a great place for cables, computer and audio/video. I picked up a few of their HDMI cables for under $10 and they were extremely well made.
SM, mostly right until you get to the CL2 part. There is nothing fire proof about a CL2 rated cable. While the rating does have to do with the jacket, it is merely for the fact that when the cable DOES burn, the jacket won’t emit toxic fumes.
Seems funny though that the cables laying on the floor and in racks are ok to emit toxic fumes. Funny huh?
If you’re lucky enough to be near one, Fry’s has excellent prices on cables. In store, look not in the home theater section (where you’ll find Monster and RCA), but there’s a separate section on the other side of the store that carries all sorts of a/v connectors/adapters/ cables. Not sure if you can find the same product on Frys.com.
The writer should also point out. Monoprice also has mounts for TV’s at 1/10th the cost of Best Buy or Walmart. A 42” flat panel wall mount goes for $20 at monoprice.
I’m using SonicWave High Speed HDMI Cables from
yourcablehookup.com.These cables are HDMI Certified Cables. Little more expensive than the $10.00 cables but at least I know they are certified. You can get the same cables from Cables to go or Inpact Acoustics ( same company) and they are more expensive.
This JVC projector offers more onscreen pixels than most, and a THX mode.
DPI, Sunfire and SnapAV deliver high performance at a reasonable price.
Sayonara, set-top box? Or will it just take an energy-saving nap?
It’s hard to imagine life without remote controls, but it’s been a long, strange path to the modern incarnation we know and love today.
Monoprice.com - Bar none - The best site for the price, quality and shipping speed.
