I’ve seen people prime and paint wood paneling and it looks pretty good. Also, replacing 1000 dvds had to have been very costly, if i was in that situation i would have instead gotten hooked up with a dvd server instead of re-buying everything (or a region free dvd player).
Well… I’d have to assume that $7500 was for everything. Including the equipment and installation materials. As far as timeline…Not everyone has cash on hand or time to burn.
Certainly not the way I would have done it, but I’m not going to knock them for what did.
WRONG.
Blue-Ray is NOT region free. That is the only thing better about HD-DVD. And buying new disks, that is just silly, anybody with more brains than cash would just buy a region-free player.
Dude you are WRONG !
Blu-Ray is region free !!! I just bought a Japanese release of Tim Burtons “Sweeny Todd” on Blu-Ray and it plays fine.
Crow, you are wrong. Blu ray is not region free. Studios have the option of enabling a disc to be region free, but many discs are region locked. Also, Region A includes the US and part of Asia, including Japan, which is why you were able to play your disc no problem.
This JVC projector offers more onscreen pixels than most, and a THX mode.
DPI, Sunfire and SnapAV deliver high performance at a reasonable price.
Sayonara, set-top box? Or will it just take an energy-saving nap?
It’s hard to imagine life without remote controls, but it’s been a long, strange path to the modern incarnation we know and love today.
It took 2 years and 7,500 bucks to do that? I would have expected 2 months and 3 grand.
If you’re sitting 8 feet away from an 8 foot wide screen, you really should look into a 1080p projector.
From ProjectorCentral: “The AW15 is not a bright projector, and visible pixelation can be more pronounced on this unit than it is on competing models of the same resolution. These two factors argue for its use in a dark room, with seating at a greater than average viewing distance.”
