To add the TiVo interface, it will cost Comcast subscribers an additional $3 each month.

With every cable and satellite service offering a digital video recording option, what’s TiVo to do? Join up with one of the giants.

Comcast just announced that it will start offering an optional TiVo interface for subscribers using an HD DVR. That means Comcast subscribers can take advantage of services such as Season Pass and WishList without an “official” TiVo box and their service fees.

However, the TiVo interface will add another $3 to your monthly bill (not counting Comcast’s $13 DVR service). No separate set-top is needed though; the service will work with Comcast’s current Motorola boxes—as long as they’re HD.

Twice says that the TiVo rollout has started in Boston, with additional markets expected later this year.

Hey M: There is no official word on that. I believe that the DVR service isn’t per box; it’s just a flat fee per household (if anyone else knows otherwise, please chime in).... I am assuming it will just be one fee on top of that.

Is it $3 per box? I wonder if the pricing will be the same when Cox does this.
