Samsung’s new Epix smartphone includes both a touchscreen and an optical mouse.
If your sweaty fingers are aching for a new phone to fiddle with, Samsung has the Epix to fill the void.
The Epix is a new smartphone exclusively available through AT&T. Sure, it has the ever-popular, pretty touchscreen. However, if you want to keep things smudge-free, you can use the Epix’s built-in stylus or optical mouse. Just swipe your finger and click. If you want to get fancy, the unit can switch to a 4-way navigation key.
Other features include built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, a 2-megapixel camera, and the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system. It’s also got AT&T Video Share, which allows users to send live video during a voice call.
Available in a silver finish, the Epix measures 4.6 x 2.4 x 0.5 inches, and weighs just 4.4 ounces. Samsung says it’s nice for business. We like that AT&T’s Mobile Music and access to Napster Mobile and XM Radio Mobile is considered business; we want to know if they are hiring.
Backed by AT&T’s 3G network, the Samsung Epix will cost $200 after a mail-in rebate and 2-year service commitment.
