You can personalize that chumby with widgets, but how about a celebrity makeover?

A few celebs were given the chumby media players to tweak. Now they are being auctioned off on eBay. The celebs include Carlos Alazraqui (“Reno 911”), Hayden Panettiere (“Heroes”), reality star Kim Kardashian, and the band Blind Melon. All proceeds will go to each celebrity’s charity of choice, including The Whaleman Foundation and Dream Foundation.

The chumby is a cute Linux-based bedside companion that spouts news, weather and other info using “widgets” you can download from the chumby site and your home’s Wi-Fi access. Another 30 blue chumby bundles will also be offered on the auction block.

“Chumby is all about personalization—from the design of the device itself to the content that plays on our interactive media players,” said Stephen Tomlin, CEO of chumby. “We are delighted to give fans the chance to bid on one-of-a-kind chumby players from their favorite celebrity.”

The chumby auctions will begin today at 3:00 p.m. (EST) on eBay. Each auction will run for 10 days.
