Canon’s DW-100 is expected to be on sale in March 2008.
You never know when you’ll need to make a copy of home movies on the fly. For this purpose, Canon has announced the DW-100, a portable DVD burner.
Sure, you probably don’t need to burn DVDs wherever you roam, but it’s main purpose is to cut out the middleman: Your computer. Just hook your camera or camcorder directly to the DW-100, and soon you will be burning up a storm.
In case you want to get old-school, the unit can be hooked to a PC or Mac. It also supports MPEG-2, AVCHD, MPEG-2 in HD and SD and HD AVCHD, says Gadgetell.
The DW-100 will be available in March 2008. There’s no word on what it will cost.
