You can never get enough recorded TV. It’s one of Media Center’s key features, having that ability to navigate and record a bit easier than your standard DVR, and Cannon PC—that’s Cannon with two Ns—wants to give you as much recorded programming as possible.
The high-performance Media Center PC manufacturer and Microsoft OEM Partner has announced that it will begin shipping the Microsoft Windows Media Center TV pack with its line for Media Center PCs. This is the same company that was the first to show off its ability to have six, count ‘em six, digital cable card tuners in its Media Center PCs recording six high-def signals simultaneously (see YouTube link below).
Cannon PC will start shipping systems with the new TV Pack beginning in early September. The company says the Microsoft Windows Media Center TV Pack will add native support for up to four TV tuners (including digital cable tuners), ClearQAM (Unencrypted Digital Cable) tuners, sharing of unprotected digital content via PlayReady enabled PCs and more.
The storage in its Media Center PCs vary, but the Home Series has models upgradeable to 1 TB and 2 TB, while the Pro series has versions that go up to 6 and 8 TB. They feature high-resolution 196 Hz/24-bit audio to go with the high-def video, so you’ll be totally immersed in quality A/V. And you’ll have every episode of Battlestar Galactica, South Park, Weeds and whatever else you’d like at your fingertips.
