Cambridge SoundWorks Tunes Into Radio
Five new radios tout HD technology, iPod & MP3 connectivity and good ole AM/FM sound.

Cambridge SoundWorks seems hell-bent on pleasing anyone and everyone that is even remotely interested in radio (well, not the satellite kind). The company just announced not one, not two, but FIVE new radio products.

The SoundWorks Radio 820HD (shown) tabletop is CSW’s first foray into HD Radio technology. You can hook up your MP3, CD or DVD player, or just enjoy the crystal-clear sounds that HD offers. That means FM channels will have near-CD-quality sound and AM will sound like, well, like FM. Plus there are extra HD2 multicast channels featuring expanded formats to round out your dial.

Other tabletop units include SoundWorks Radio 735 and the CD 745, which are both designed to play nice with the iPod or other portable music players. And finally, the SoundWorks Radio 705 plays good ole AM/FM—just like the one at your grandma’s house, except it could blow her wig off and comes in a much cooler package.

CSW is also planning the SoundWorks Tuner 850HD, an HD Radio component for under $300. All products are scheduled for October and November releases.

  • 820HD ($299.99) available in November
  • 820HD boasts HD Radio
  • 820HD includes up-to-the-minute text information
  • 850HD ($299.99) available in November
  • 735 ($299.99) and CD 745 ($399.99) available in October
  • 705 ($119.99) available in October
