B&W just announced four sharp new additions to its CM Series. When it comes to at least one, B&W describes it as a “seriously grown-up” unit. Then why do we feel like a bunch of giddy schoolgirls?

The CM9 ($1,500 each) is a three-way floor-standing speaker, with a 25mm tweeter, a 150mm Kevlar FST midrange driver, and twin 165mm paper/Kevlar bass drivers.

The CM5 ($750 each) is a two-way stand-mount speaker with a 25mm aluminum dome tweeter and 165mm Kevlar bass/midrange driver.

Taking center stage—or at least the center of your setup—is the CM Center 2 ($1,250 each). Larger than B&W’s original CM Center entry, it boasts increased output and bass extension.

Last, but certainly loudest, is the ASW 10CM ($1,500). This subwoofer pairs up a 25cm paper/Kevlar cone bass unit with a 500-watt amplifier.

Each is long on looks as well as performance. Sporting real wood veneers, the new CM models will be available in October.
