There are a lot of iPad mounts on the market. What we love about the Koala Mount is that it doesn’t require tools and a nearby First-Aid kit.
Instead, the Koala Mount has a couple of 3M’s large Command strips on the back, which can hold up to 5 pounds each. According to brothers Chris and Colby Moyer, the duo that designed the Koala, the strips provide a tight grip. In fact, they’ve used them before, on the pair’s Dockem universal wall mount.
Designed to fit the iPad and iPad 2, the Koala Mount also has a cord clip to cut down on the clutter. The brothers say they’ve also tested out the Koala with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Motorola Xoom, and it fits those tablets nicely as well.
That brings us to another thing that we love: the Koala Mount was actually designed by two brothers. The Moyers are currently raising money for the product through the Kickstarter website. The first 500 to pledge $10 will secure a Koala Mount—as well as free delivery within the continental U.S. Each order also comes with a couple of glow stickers, so you can find those cords in the dark.
At last peek, the Moyers had $3,838 of their $5,000 goal. The two will take pledges through January 29, 2012, with plans to deliver the Koala Mount to potential customers in April 2012.
