Comcast and Verizon recently rolled out home automation services to its customers. However, that won’t leave any of the smaller service providers in the dust—at least not Bright House Networks.

The company first launched Bright House Networks Home Security & Automation back in March. The whole-house solution includes security, energy monitoring, lighting, touchscreen access, and more.

At launch, the home control services were offered in Hillsborough County, which comprises the Tampa, St.Petersburg, and Clearwater areas. Now, CED Magazine says that the company is making these services available to other parts of the Tampa Bay area. Bright House plans to keep rolling out the services in Florida before branching out to other states.

Bright House Networks Home Security & Automation base service runs $32.99 per month, with a $100 installation fee. That cost includes support from a 24/7 emergency response center.

Bright House Networks is the sixth largest cable provider in the country.

Let’s hope that Bright House’s rollout goes better than Verizon’s.
