What’s in a name? Apparently, a bit of confusion. Boston Acoustics just announced that it will drop the “Vista” from its VS speaker line—instead going for the lengthy tagline, “A New Vision in Great Sound.” Get it?

There was no lawsuit involved, but there was some confusion. “At Boston Acoustics, we listen very closely to the feedback and suggestions of our valued channel partners, distributors and retail customers, and our sole aim is to provide all our customers with the easiest and most efficient way to experience the benefits of our products,” says Eli Harary, BA’s senior VP and general manager. “Based on input from CEDIA, we decided to change from Vista to ‘VS’, underscoring the message that this new flagship series represents ‘a new Vision in great Sound’.”

The flagship VS Series includes four models: The VS 336 floorstanding loudspeaker ($1,700), the VS 325C Center Channel ($900), the VS 240 bookshelf ($400), and the VPS 210 500-watt subwoofer. The VS 224 LCR and the VS 260 bookshelf will be available for $700 each, starting this fall.
