Is Bond Coming to Blu-ray?
If MGM plays its cards right we may soon see the suave spy much clearer.
Bond Coming to Blu-ray
Hopefully by Christmas, we will see a few of the classic Bond flicks available on Blu-ray.

Another classic series could be coming to Blu-ray—well, sort of.

High-Def Digest says that MGM is planning to release six James Bond titles this winter. Here comes this sad part: The releases are expected to hit France on November 5, 2008. Right now, there’s no word on those titles hitting any other country. Perhaps they are holding out for a Christmas release?

Either way, the announcement says that the first six flicks to get Blu-ray treatment will be “Dr. No,” “Thunderball,” “Live and Let Die,” “From Russia With Love,” “Die Another Day” and “For Your Eyes Only.” At least they are sparing us the Timothy Dalton years—for now.

The rest of the James Bond adventures are expected to hit around the same time as the Blu-ray release of “Quantum of Solace,” the second Bond release with Daniel Craig.

So far, the studio is mum on all of the releases. For now, you’ll just have to indulge in Blu-ray’s latest badass, Dirty Harry.

“Quantum of Solace” is expected to hit theaters on November 7, 2008.

Editor’s Note: On June 18, MGM announced that these titles will be available in the U.S. starting October 21, 2008.
