Several manufacturers are trying to untether your music. Having Bluetooth built into a speaker makes it insanely easy to stream music from smartphones, tablets, PCs or any other compatible device. However, just because a speaker doesn’t tie you down with wires doesn’t always make it portable.

That’s why BlueFlame is launching The Slingshot, a new Bluetooth-enabled speaker that’s designed to go wherever you go. No, it really can—even to the beach or the pool. That’s because this thing is water-resistant.

Just link the speaker with your favorite portable and you can crank music up to 33 feet from that source. It also has a 100Hz-10KHz frequency range and a built-in microphone for making and taking calls.

The Slingshot comes packed with its own soft sling for hanging from a showerhead or hook, but a To Go Sling is also an option.

BlueFlame has started taking orders for The Slinghot, with plans to ship on August 1, 2013. Two models will be available, in a variety of colors. The one with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery will be priced at $119.99, while the battery-powered model has a $99.99 MSRP. The To Go Sling will be sold separately for $19.99.
