Some years come and go with little fanfare and few events worthy of mention. 2008 was not one of those years. Amidst the backdrop of a controversial war, two eager candidates fought tooth and nail for our attention and support. Using all manners of persuasion, from television ads to celebrity endorsements, each camp urged us to look past color, to look beyond red and blue, and demand the changes they promised which we so rightfully deserved. In the end, only one candidate would remain standing - and its name was Blu-ray.
