For those of you looking to purchase one (or both!) of the high-def formats this Christmas, it seems as though Blu-ray might be the favorite, despite holiday deals on HD DVD hardware.
The Blu-ray camp says that as of November 24, there are 2.7 million Blu-ray machines in homes—and that’s just in North America. Also, Neilsen/VideoScan (via Daily Tech) says that of the high-def discs purchased over Black Friday week, 72.6 percent of those were Blu-ray.
According to the BDA, Blu-ray movie titles have so far (as of November 25) outsold HD DVD in the U.S. by a 2-to-1 margin.
