Most people would say that the sequel is never as good as the original film. Such sentiments can be said about The Hangover II. While the “wolf pack” returns, Home Theater Forum reports that the script is lackluster and has the characters merely retracing steps from the much funnier original movie.
Home Theater Forum’s Cameron Yee reviewed the Blu-ray release and had these thoughts:
Audio
Dialogue in the 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio mix is reasonably clear and intelligible, though early scenes have an inexplicable hollow timbre to them.
Video
The transfer features strong colors, contrast and black levels, giving the image a highly saturated, constrasty quality that is perfectly suited to the high heat and humidity of the Southeast Asian setting. The somewhat stylized treatment also seems to intensify the grain structure, giving some scenes a noticeable - but still appropriate - grittiness.
