With the combination of heavyweights like the writers of The Hangover and the director of Wedding Crashers, viewers would expect an immediate success. However, one of the easiest ways to describe The Change-Up is to say it is the adult version of Freaky Friday, except not nearly as entertaining.
Home Theater Forum’s Kevin Koster reviewed the Blu-ray release and had these thoughts:
Video
The Change-Up is presented in two HD encodes, both in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio. The details and the colors throughout are strong, and the occasional CGI blends in well.
Audio
There’s a bit of atmospheric sound, but nothing that will make a big impact. The subwoofer comes into play for a few trick effects and to buttress the music.
