Jackie Chan fan’s looking forward to seeing their favorite kung fu star back in action are in for a dose of the actor’s classic use of physical humor. While Chan’s iconic moves are always entertaining, in this film they make the otherwise dreary time frame of China’s Warring States Period easier to digest. 

Home Theater Forum’s Cameron Yee reviewed the Blu-ray release and had these thoughts:

The color palette is limited, due to the production design and intentional desaturation of the cinematography, making the picture look monochromatic at times. Fine object resolution holds up well, revealing fine detail in skin, hair and fabrics, but also looking quite crisp in the film’s numerous landscape shots.

Audio

Surround effects are seamless and balanced when used at critical, dramatic moments. LFE is also quite robust, giving power to a thunderstorm and the galloping hoof beats of charging soldiers on horseback.
