Blu-Ray Review: Altered States
Based on the novel by Paddy Chayefsky, the film offers a fine HD presentation of an exploration of the human mind and consciousness.

Ever become so obsessed with something that it’s all you talk about to your friends and family? An obsession with mind altering substances and experimental states of consciousness drove apart psychologist Edward Jessup’s marriage. The obsession even caused a close friend of Jessup’s to question the psychologist’s mental stability.

Home Theater Forum’s Cameron Yee reviewed the Blu-ray release and had these thoughts:


A few moments of softness look like focusing errors, but the picture appears free of artifacts from digital noise reduction or sharpening measures.


Low frequency effects are non-existent, but the track exhibits pleasing depth and range throughout.
