Blu-ray Picks for the Week of November 6, 2012
A new twist on an old favorite and plenty of pre-holiday treats; get a peek at this week's new and notable releases.

We’re a day late with this week’s Blu-rays, but we’re going to blame Sony. We have to blame someone—and the studio is going to be tardy as well, releasing this week’s spotlight Blu-ray a few days beyond the typical Tuesday.

That special treatment goes to The Amazing Spider-Man, which will start selling this Friday. Our webbed friend is getting a special date because it’s a special title for the studio. First of all, they had to go through all of the rants regarding the move to reboot the 10-year-old franchise. Then, they dumped a boatload of money into it. Big surprise: It paid off. Not only was director Marc Webb’s vision a box-office success, but it makes for a nice Blu-ray to boot.

While you’re waiting on our favorite web-slinger, there is a slew of other releases to check out. For instance, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas—thanks to four separate animated releases.

Did we miss one of your favorites for the week? Have something to say about one of this week’s new releases? Sound off in the comments below. Otherwise, all of these titles are out now, except where noted. Enjoy!
