Blu-ray Picks for the Week of August 7, 2012
A music icon, creepy TV characters, and a Dr. Seuss classic; get a peek at this week's new and notable releases.
August 08, 2012 | by Rachel Cericola

We neglected our picks last week, but it was certainly worth the sloth. This week offers plenty of Blu-ray pop, whether you’re looking for something to entertain the kids, get them dancing, or sending them screaming from the room.

That said, this week’s pick is the Magnolia documentary Marley. Although The Lorax has a ton of great colors, immersive audio and a separate 3D release, it’s really hard to go wrong with one of the most celebrated musicians of all time. The film is a fascinating piece of work, even for casual fans.

If reggae really isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other selections this week, including the aforementioned Dr. Seuss tale, the monster-filled freshman season of Grimm, and a few classics that are making a high-def debut.

Did we miss one of your favorites for the week? Have something to say about one of this week’s new releases? Sound off in the comments below. Otherwise, all of these titles are out now, except where noted. Enjoy!
