Black & Decker’s Power Monitor provides real-time info on electricity use as well as estimated end-of-month costs.
It’s hard enough to remember your keys—how will you remember to unplug appliances when you leave the house?
Black & Decker will keep you in check with its Power Monitor. Set this baby up, and your energy bill will be blaring in your face 24/7. That will teach you to turn a few things off! The unit has a constant peek at how much electricity you use, as well as the cost in dollars and sense.
The product includes a wireless sensor that attaches to your current energy meter. It’s easy to install, so you won’t need an electrician or additional wiring. Punch in a few details about your current bill, and the monitor transforms it all into real-time magic. Other stats include month-to-date costs and a real-time peek at current outside temperature—at least out where the wireless sensor lives.
The Power Monitor will be available at retailers including Amazon and Target, starting in October. The MSRP is $100.
