A lot of HDTVs and Blu-ray players are starting to pack in Skype features. For those of you still kicking it old-school with an older TV, there’s Biscotti.

This delicious TV treat adds video conferencing into just about any HDTV—while you’re watching TV. That means that there’s no need to interrupt the big game to make and take video calls. It also supposedly “captures the whole room,” meaning that you can move around the room, without being confined to the couch.

Previously known as Wham!, the Biscotti connects to the HDTV’s HDMI input, as well as your Wi-Fi network. If you don’t have a TV input to spare, it can go in between the HDMI input and a cable box. From there, you can make free calls to Biscotti and Google contacts on their TVs, computers, smartphones and tablets.

The Biscotti has a built-in microphone and an automatic answering feature. Ubergizmo also says it has HDMI-CEC support that can tie in other AV components.

Head over to the Biscotti TV Phone website to place your order. There are no monthly fees for the service, but the hardware will run you $199. According to the company’s website, the product will ship within two weeks. A slew of accessories, including an HDMI cable, a mount, a remote, and a power adapter, should also be available next month.
