An impressive home theater design by Connected Technology
July 07, 2014 by Lisa Montgomery

A home theater can be like a blank canvas. With creativity, ingenuity, solid A/V products, knowledgeable designer and installers and, of course, the appropriate budget, you can create a special place to relax, unwind and enjoy a good movie with your family and friends. In the following slideshows, you’ll see an amazing assortment of home theaters, from simple, basic and affordable, to pie-in-the-sky showpieces with all the bells and whistles.

The owners and professional installers/designers of the featured theaters weren’t afraid to incorporate unique features and cutting-edge technology. You’ll see theaters where sensational lighting effects provide an exciting prelude to movie time, and theaters packed with enough speakers and subwoofers to rock the neighborhood … had they not been purposely constructed to prevent all that sensational audio from leaking out.

And what would a theater be without a big screen on which to present larger-than-life images? The screens in these theaters accommodate a wide variety of content: Cinemascope, 3D, 4K and everything in between. The images pop when the lights go down, which in most cases is accomplished right from the couch with a quick button tap on a remote control, touchpanel, smartphone or tablet.

Here are some of the excellent entries in this year’s Electronic House home of the year competition.
