No one likes coming home to a hot (or cold) house.
DLP has designed a small device to help keep your home’s comfort level constant. The DLP Design Data Center System can remotely monitor temperature and humidity through the web.
When readings fall below predetermined levels, the unit sends you an email. That way, you can start sweating before you even step in the door. The company says the unit is also perfect for monitoring baby rooms, storage in the attic, or your wine cellar.
However, this weird little box doesn’t work alone. It needs sensors to make the magic happen. DLP’s hub can accommodate up to eight sensors. Connect the hub or the sensors to a computer, and you can monitor it from anywhere via the web. The sensors can be located up to 250 feet away from the DLP-UTH8 hub.
The company says that you can add on the DLP-UTH8 hub for $79.95 and the DLP-UT1 sensor for $29.95. Both can be controlled through DLP’s Data Center, which will cost you extra; expect to pay $29.95 for six months or $50 for one year. The DLP Design Data Center and its friends are available through Mouser Electronics.
