Looking to swap your recently purchased PS3 for a new, smaller PS3 Slim?
Hold that thought.
According to Kotaku, Best Buy will try to persuade consumers to hold onto their PS3s by offering a free PS3 title and price match instead of returning it for the PS3 Slim, which will ship for $299.
Now, you might be thinking that the games Best Buy will offer can’t possibly be any good. Well, they are. Best Buy will offer a free copy of Infamous, MLB 09 The Show or Killzone 2.
Kotaku got its hands on an internal memo (see image below) telling Best Buy employees to convince consumers not to trade in their PS3s. Kotaku, which says the memo was verified by “a number of employees at different stores,” also points out that this deal depends on the independent store managers.
Obviously, you’ll need a valid receipt for you PS3 in order to qualify for this trade-in. But we’ll ask the question on everyone’s mind: is a free game enough to stop you from swapping your PS3?
